About

Biography

Tamim Sibai, born in Damascus 1991 and currently working and living in Berlin, art is a means to face one’s own thoughts and feelings. Influenced by dialogue with the other(s), encountered behaviours, masks and mirror images, Tamim’s painted portraits reflect a mixture of the painted person’s image and the artist’s own feelings towards that person. His paintings style is colourful and he favors thick layers of paint as a technique. The colours are aggressive and applied out of free movement. Tamim’s paintings are lively and serious at the same time. Despite the wild and expressionist tone, the figures transpire a certain sense of calm. Their eyes hide emotional but show motionless and rigid. He has shown his artworks at many exhibitions, in Damascus, Berlin, Khartoum and in a private collection in Beirut, Khartoum, Graz, Montreal, Paris, Stockholm, Amsterdam, London and Berlin.

Paintings

All human issues matter to art forever and a day. All these postures and expressions are prepared to let people wonder, question themselves and observe the details. Building a healthy community and understanding human behaviour is the basis to achieve a better version of criticism in our world. The use of various wild colours shows the strength of people’s impressions in a contemporary daily life’s scene. And using layers of colours is a technique to express the hidden emotions and take us beyond the lines to the depth of a person’s action. Behind each detail of a colour or a surface, Layer or a line is a painting that tell all about human attitude, behaviour, reactions, emotions, characters and appearance. What people hide and show in themselves and how the artist observes it and turns it into a visible shape or texture so it can be seen through an Artwork. As a human who happened to be a painter, I invite you to see and react with every painting and open the 1:1 Dialogue about all the inners .
